  • Flipping a tractor.... Possible humor
  • A short note of intro. I edited this out of a post I made on "the other" board.
Some tightwad might be offended. Sorry 'bout your bad luck.
Everyone else, Enjoy! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Never have your foot too far away from the clutch when pulling anything. It surprises you when the front end comes up without warning.
Your machine will kill you. The highest I have ever achieved was about 3 or 4 feet because the engine speed was up a bit.
The front end goes up, Stomp the clutch and the tractor just hangs in mid air.
You know if you release the clutch your going to be stuck under your tractor when it does go over.
So you turn off the key and think about what your doing for a few seconds.
Then you finally release the hydraulics and the front end slowly sinks to the ground.
Let's regroup and attack this again...
meanwhile your tractor is looking at you saying "Wha?"
However if this is now your second time doing this you realize your tractor is schizophrenic.
Either it is dumber than a bag of hammers or it has an evil streak in it and truly desires to annihilate you in any way possible. This is another reason why small children should be kept away....The wife is another story.

  • Sounds like someone may have gotten a lesson in changing underwear. The best traction is obtained with the front wheels about 2 inches off the ground. The hard part is keeping it it at only 2 inches.

  • Bruce,

They will go higher than that! However I've never had one hang there when I pushed the clutch. One also has to be real fast on the brakes as they tend to try to fall to one side or the other when in that position.

One should not have the hydraulics full up when they attempt to move the irremovable object.

  • Good point Jack. Always hook to the draw bar or below the rear axle.
