Bought some piston tools yesterday
The only piston tools I've ever owned was a cylinder hone. When it came to assembling an engine I always borrowed the tools. I have an engine to assemble here so I looked on CL and found these. I can't find any name on them anywhere but he said they were at least 30 years old so maybe USA made. I paid $40 for the bunch and am happy with that. If the pic doesn't show click the link.

Re: Bought some piston tools yesterday
Upper left is a cylinder hone but I suspect brake cylinder. Lower right is a piston ring groove cleaner. Other two look like ring compressors but I've never seen any that looked exactly like those.

Re: Bought some piston tools yesterday
Lower left one looks like a ring expander used for installing rings on the piston. Mark

Re: Bought some piston tools yesterday
You are quite likely correct! Don't believe I ever owned a ring installer. Any thing I ever owned along that line should be in the garage as I never get rid of a tool! Jack
