Hi Ed. John Smith has an outstanding web site that is devoted to our N's, and he has a very informative section that helps identify the various years and models.
Click here to visit John's site.
As for your plow - the N's are plowing machines. It's one of the main functions they were designed to perform. Most N's will pull a 2-bottom plow (2-12 or 2-14). This is somewhat dependent on the type of soil that you are plowing. If you have "tough" (hard packed, lot's of rocks/roots, etc.) soil, then you may be restricted to using a single bottom plow. I would suggest asking local farmers about the soil in your area and what they use. I have posted a plow manual or two in this forum. I would urge you to look at them to get an idea of what is involved. There is a very good manual in this forum that even tells you how to plow.
Feel free to ask if you have more questions.
Hope this helps............Ed
