Hello Folks, I haven't been on this site/forum for quite a while but I'm really in need of some help and direction. I've tried to find these items myself but I have had no success and this forum was very helpful to me years ago. I'm hoping you can help me now. I have a bush/brush hog/rotary cutter (depending on how you refer to this implement/attachment) for my Ford 8N tractor. I have tried to find name plate data for the brand of this unit but it is very old with no visible writing anywhere.
The unit was sold to me as a 4 foot cutter but it's actually only 40" in width and the blades (2) from the end of the one blade across to the end of the other blade is roughly 38". I've measured the individual blades and they are approximately 14 3/4" long X 3" wide X 1/2" thick with the bolt hole(s) probably around 1 1/2" in diameter. No matter where I look, I can't find blades with these dimensions (mostly because the length on the ones I have seen is longer than mine). I've sharpened them several times but my pasture is so full of rocks that I'm at a point where I need to replace them. Can anyone provide direction on where I might find these shorter than average blades? I have attached pictures of the two blades as well as the "yoke" attachment with the blades on it under the implement housing. Thanks in advance for any help or direction that anyone can provide.
