These tractors were built with 6 volt systems or, in the case of the 2N, a hand crank and a magneto. If a hand crank can be turned to start a strong engine properly set up, 6 volts is a back saver.
As someone else said, your tractor, your choice and for any reason you want it. Just do it right.
Myself, I am a 6 volt diehard. Of all of the Fords that I have owned, I bought only one that was 12 volt. My remaining "umteen" (I never state a number) are 6 volt.
