drag links stuck in sector, ideas?

I have a broken shifter cover, and it's replacement. Of course, the steering gear and upper housing must be removed first. All is well except, both drag links will not come out of the sector. I've done everything I can think of except "the heat wrench" and I really don't want to do that next to rubber grease cup on the tie rod end. Any ideas?
