If you run a tap into axle housing might want to check if they are blind holes, I can't remember, but studs are often used in blind holes so get a mini-mag and pencil and look first. Best to use a bottoming tap if so -don't want to snap off the tap, have had customers do that B4 too. If you need a tap I can send you one - I have plenty. Sounds like you are on top of the game so good luck.
