OT for Bruce, Don't know you or your build but something I learned the hard way. I took a 2½ year break from wrenching and put some serious hotshot miles on my 94 IDI Turbo. I thought kepping the old Ford stock would keep it dependable. After damaging the original and the wrecking yard engines #8 piston I quit the road and went back to turning wrenches. Latter learned that the Ford techs were installing a larger down pipe when the IDI Turbo 7.3's were under warranty. Seems factory was 2½" and the upgrade was 3". Even stock a pyrometer would be a good idea also. Seems it was best not to push it past 1100 deg F.
