Thanks for the replies and suggestions, guys. Looks like I have some drilling and welding to do tomorrow. I think I have a couple of lengths of chain I can use and I like the idea of some kind of turnbuckles for final adjustment.
The blades on my IM500 brush hog are level with the the bottom of the skids so if it is sitting on uneven ground they can hit dirt and they definitely made kindling of one of the oak splits I had set under the skids while hooking it up.
