... interesting stuff, Ed... is there any indication as to what kind of work week the Ford employees enjoyed?... did they work a standard 5 day week?... was 6 days anything out of the ordinary?... did they work two shifts or three?... daily overtime?... what was Ford's policy on holidays?...

... and re: serial numbers... the IT F04 shop manual indicates the beginning serial # for 1948 as 37908, and the beginning number for 1949 being 141370... that would indicate 103,462 units built during 1948, and dividing that # by 400 indicates total work days being 258.66.. let's say 260...

.. a 5 day work week would be 52 weeks... but a 6 day work week would be 43.4333 weeks... then the holidays... did they get Christmas off?... New Years Day?.. Thanksgiving?... 4th of July?... Armistice Day?... Easter?... Presidents' Birthdays (as we used to do before combining them...)

... I've done only a minmimal amount of research on this solely in a desire to 'date' my tractor to its' 'birthday' as close as I can... she'll never be a trailer queen or have any reason for her pedigree to be all that accurate, but it'd be nice to know...
