Though long overdue, it appears that there is a growing belief that the nearly unachievable libel malice standard established for public figures (read pols and talking heads) in the 1964 NYT v Sullivan case needs to be revisited.

I could not agree more.

It would be much better for the American People and the country, if pols, newscasters, etc. could be held accountable for their false statements.
