Is it true then that SIDPERS stood for "Silly Individuals Desperately Pretending Everything's Running Smoothly"?
I joined that volunteer disaster and after a few too many years, manage to escape with an honorable discharge on the DD214 and 00 years, 00 months and 00 days remaining on inactive reserve, so when I was out, I was out and done.
That didn't stop me from going back once or twice to visit the recruiter just to see if they would take me back. I never was serious.
I did enjoy the 110 General test score needed to become an officer.
118 was the score for an air traffic controller.
Mine was a bit higher than those.
Maybe that helps explain why I didn't play army too well.
I enjoyed military intelligence and often poked fun at it.
I often repeated the Section of the General Patton speech regarding dying for one's country. That just annoyed all the wanna be Heroes.
