Existing treaties allow the US to use Greenland for defensive purposes.
There is no need to "acquire" Greenland for defensive purposes, at least not at this time.
Acquiring Greenland would cost US taxpayers enormous amounts to support the 57K mostly non-productive inhabitants, even after the enormous acquisition costs.
Furthermore, if Greenland was "acquired," the demos would quickly make it a state with one perpetual demo representative and two perpetual demo senators as soon as they again gain control of the government, which will likely be soon.
This is a fool's errand.
