I just purchased a 3 bottom plow on a Big Iron auction. Its a Dearborn 3 bottom plow for $23. It has a U-channel bolted to the top of it - can anyone tell me if the u-channel was factory installed or if it was a farmer repair. Oh, yeah, just a word of advice: These old Prior Model Plows are no longer serviced, meaning they do not make service parts for them anymore.

First, congrats on the buy -$23, what deal! Next, the Dearborn Prior Model Plows never offered a 3-bottom version. That plow is a farmerized plow with a 3rd beam attached-see the angle iron on top??? That ain't original. N's can't pull a 3-bottom. Not sure which U-Bolt you refer to but there is a cam-locked adjustment U bolt on the cross shaft -see here. Thank you Mr Daley. I wasn't sure exactly what I had but I figured at the very worse for $23 I can always convert it back to a 2 bottom and a set of spare wear parts.
