  • 1955 Ford 600 Looking for spindle seal
  • I took the front wheels apart to replace the bearings and noticed that it had a dust seal on the spindle, as well as a bearing seal inside the hub(which I have replaced already). I can not find this part in any of the exploded views for this tractor. The spindle has a shoulder that measured at 1 5/8" and the inside of the hub 2 11/16" The nearest I have found is ID 2" OD 2 11/16". Am I losing my mind or is it a real part? Any help would be great. I hate buying things online because I can't touch them to see if they fit and I may just go without them, but I don't want to

  • They are felt seals.Ford dealer wanted 3.50 each 30 years ago.I made my own from a felt boot liner.Leather would work too.The seal keeps dirt out that would mix with spindle grease and wear the bushings.
