  • Ignition switch
  • Just replaced my ignition switch that made it a whole 2 years. Bought one at Tractor supply to get me going.
Is there anyplace that sells a quality switch so the next time this happens ... hopefully it will be the last.
    Thanks.

  • What make, model, and year tractor? It matters somewhat if you want close to original. Early 9N used its own switch. Later 9Ns and 2Ns used a different switch,8Ns used a whole new switch. I don't shop TSC for anything anymore, and certainly not for tractor parts...they never have what I need so I don't waste my time anymore. Try Dennis Carpenter, STEINERS, or Just8Ns like this:

  • I checked the 2013 book from Stevens Ag Parts and their price for the same p/n was 7.95. Came with 2 keys also. I doubt price has gone up very much in 4 years. It pays to check several sources for whatever we buy as prices can vary substantially.

  • Long ago, I replaced mine with a heavy duty toggle switch. I paralleled the contacts so there was virtually no chance of any future failure.

  • I bought one from TSC a few years ago because it was handy. It actually fell apart just getting it out of the package. I buy marine grade electrical stuff from a marine supply, or get the "just like original" Dennis Carpenter version from a reputable N-Tractor parts supplier.

  • You might also consider NAPA ECH KS 6116
Higher amp rating, lower price. What I put on mine after going through two "OEM style" switches in a year.
