  • Can a Ferguson PEO21 use Ford 9n parts?
  • Hi, i apologize if this is not the appropriate place to ask this, but I'm new here. Can anyone tell me if a Ferguson PEO21 would be able to use Parts from a Ford 8n or 9n?
i have an opportunity to buy a Ferguson PEO21 that is advertised as a Ford9n-like tractor. I am just wondering if it will be easy to get parts for it to keep it running in the years to come. And I am having a little trouble figuring out the history of the PEO and if its really built like a 9n. any info is appreciated. The nameplate on the tractor says "Ferguson tyoe:PEO21 no:22875" thanks so much!

  • When Henry 'Harry' Ferguson was fired by Henry Ford II he went to Coventry, England to get his new TE20 tractor built. At the time of the split, most, 99.98% of all the implement and parts suppliers stuck with Ford, however, many made parts and implements for both Ford (now Dearborn) and Ferguson. Part numbers were similar, with only part prefix and/or suffix codes reflecting who was who. Virtually all implement parts are interchangeable and there are also many TE/TO tractor parts that will swap out with the Ford N's but also many that will not.

  • Might be best to post a photo of the tractor. In the manual section under tractors there are some ferguson manuals. The one for Aug 1951 parts manual will have some of the parts that will switch will 9n/2n. It mostly hydraulics but other stuff might be able to be switched. I have worked on both the ford and fergusons and have switched parts so if you have a question just ask here or send me an email.

  • It's a TEO...Now to see if I can find my Fergy parts manual....
TO, Tractor Overseas, TE, Tractor England, TE-A.... Tractor made in England for Australia? Been too long since I researched it. The link below might fill in the blanks.
Hydraulic parts will change from the 9&2N to the TO-20 and 30. 8N can also be swapped in but you need to also change the top cover when doing that one.
As for the PE toy you have, first look under the stering wheel at the beginning of the data plate. It will start odd with the TO,TE or maybe even the TEA, followed by a stamped in number.

  • The older Ferguson tractors were either TO or TE models; (TO 20's, TO 30's and TE 20's, TE 30's - the E models being those manufactured across the pond).

  • Did you look at tractordata.com? they have some info there, I've never heard of a PE but then I'm not a Ferguson fan either. Lot of parts interchange and a lot don't so its kind of hit and miss.

  • You know what? I just found the manual for the Feruson PEO 21 on this site! It focuses almost entirely on the sickle mower, rather than the tractor itself... so now i am wondering if maybe it is a Ford 9n (or maybe 2n?) and the "Ferguson PEO 21 plate" is just referring the the new Ferguson 3pt system that is on the tractor.

    maybe?
