  • Air cleaner question
  • I have an 841 gas job that had a 4000 engine swapped in before I got it. It was missing the air cleaner assembly but am confused on which one I need. The carburetor has a 2" opening. I ordered the air cleaner assembly online for an 841 and the diameter of the breather tube is too small. The air cleaner they sent also looks like an NAA one to me. Do I need the 4000 air cleaner and the right angle air cleaner tube for this application? Thanks!

  • This is the one you need. Photo taken next to oil tank vent pipe, nothing to do with air filter.

  • No they need to send you the right one for the 841 for the 172 engine. They probably send you one for a 641 with the 134 engine.

  • Thanks, Kirk. Any chance you or any of the other members have a picture of the correct air filter and tube for an 841? They told me the only other one they sell if for a 4000 and suggested I use duct tape to connect it at the carb!!!!

  • I'll post a photo tomorrow.
The 4000 air cleaner is the same. If it's for the four cylinder one and not the three cylinder and not the diesel one. Told you to duct tape it, bull crap.
