  • 105, excuse me, 104 days and a wake up until financial retirement. 18 days past the 60th birthday. She doesn't desire to sell and move down to the flat-landers and still desires no neighbors on 4 sides. Nor does she desire to chop trees. I am going to get a timber cruiser up here anyway, probably in August. Know anyone?
She added an '87 4X4 F250 6.9 diesel to my project list.
That might be running in another week or so.
    Catch you later!!

  • I hear timber prices are pretty high right now. But The boss would kill me if I started falling trees! Don't know any good cruisers any more. Crap shoot. some good loggers and some bad. I like standing trees! Retirement is good. over 11 years now and no looking back. best decision I ever made is retiring early. Found out I am 60 percent disabled by the VA so that really helps. More play money!!

  • Well all the folks getting knocked over on the east coast should keep prices up for another year, so no rush. Wife desires to keep standing timber for long term insurance. That is only good as long as the trees don't get damaged from anything.
60% VA gimp? your doing good. I am at 30% and about to go for 40. That 60% is good for lifetime hunting/fishing license and a reduction in property tax that will increase 3% every passing year your gimped up. Live long enough and it's free.
The job has just gotten absolutely beyond anything at all that I desire to deal with. I might stick my head in at the Rescue mission vehicle sales lot downtown and look into a contribution I might be able to make there. That will be after summer is over. We shall see.
Still would like to get a price on the trees. Could build a new house and a shop/garage, too old for animals to play with. (cows, sheep, whatever) My horses come in the shape of a tractor. 20 horses here and 40 horses there. . . .
