  • 2019 Calendar
  • Is anyone interested in taking over the calendar? I am trying to find the software so I can make them again but I'm not having any luck. May have a printer in line but I can't confirm that yet. In any event it's time to start collecting pictures so if you want to be in the calendar send me your pictures and I will start saving them.

In the mean time does anybody know the name of good calendar making software?

  • Dan,
Calendars are similar to business cards, letter head, and envelopes. Most on-line printing companies have free templates. For some the template is a download, for others the customer selects colors, uploads photos and does the layout right on their web site.

I looked at one web site and they had a bunch of options regarding the weight, finish and coating on the cover and pages. I have no idea what those various options look and feel like. I understand matte vs glossy, but that's about it. For anything that requires an artistic or esthetic talent I missed the line for that gene.

This is a few that showed up in a search:

  • Kebby-
One factor to consider is cost. Most all of those on-line services make it cost prohibitive for something like the NTC calendar. You don't need any expensive fancy software, there are basic programs already around that have the option. It's having the time to put it together then getting them printed, packaged, and mailed that adds up the costs. Remember the NTC is a 501-C not-for-profit organization so whoever does them has to recoup their overhead costs. Anything extra goes into their pocket, not the NTC. It seems like interest has waned on the calendars the past few years anyway.

  • If I went that route I would have to sell them for $20 each to cover my cost of printing and mailing, not to mention my time.

  • Yep, if there is an inexpensive local printer handy, picking them up would save the shipping charges for the bulk orders. Every time I try to put a dollar amount on running around town, it looks less expensive to pay the shipping charge for stuff to just show up on the doorstep. Of course I have no idea how many calendars this might be.
