  • 8N Pan Seat
  • My seat is always getting in my way in the barn. It has long since be replaced with Knoedeler.

It has been sand blasted and painted with a new hold down clip.

There does not seem to be a market for this thing at all. I just hate to throw it in the scrap iron.

What would you folks do. It needs to go.

  • Well you all must have changed my luck. The seat with spring and new hold down clip went down the road with its new owner today.

    Thanks all for your input.

  • You can sell it if you want to. It may not sell instantly as it would have a few years ago.

  • I have a couple of seats off of old tractors (unknown for sure what kind). If you are never going to use it for a tractor seat again, build a stand and make a stool out of it, get it powder coated and make it decorative as well.

  • If you decide to sell it, does it come with the spring too? My email is open so send pictures please.

  • The pan seats do sell when someone is doing a restoration and needs a decent original. Timing is everything. I have one pan seat hanging in the rafters now. If I didn't hang parts and tools from the rafters, there wouldn't be room to walk out there.

One lesson this pack rat learned the hard way: Use sturdy hooks thru a hole or positively secure things so pulling one item down can't knock something else loose and dent your skull.

  • Your call. OEM R-O-R seats came with just the frame and required you to use your existing pan seat. It wasn't until the 800 Series they were standard issue complete. Explain how the pan seat is always getting in the way in the barn. I'm not getting that part. If you mean now as it is hanging on the wall or someplace, try the rafters.

  • If mine, I'd keep it.

I put a restored Rest-O-Ride seat on my 52 a few years ago but kept the OEM pan seat for originality purposes.
