  • Jubilee oil bath air cleaner
  • I took the bowl off of my "new" jubilee air cleaner and it was filled with water and crud. I cleaned the bowl but want to know if I should put oil in the center part of the bowl, or only on the outside of the center section. Also, what oil should be used. Any suggestions on a good way to clean the entire filter would be helpful.
    Thanks

  • Thanks for your help. As always, you have helped me with your expertise and I learned more about my tractor project.

  • I never saw one that did not have holes in the center cup so you could put oil in either & it ran into the other.

  • Your OEM Model NAA Owner/Operator Manual List of Capacities shows Oil Bath Air Cleaner is 1.3 Pints.

  • I'm not so familiar with your NAA oil bath filter so don't know where the fill marks are.
As to cleaning out the filter element some say to use kerosene in a 5 gal pail and soak the filter in it for a week or so.
That's what I do but I use gasoline and set the pail/filter out by the woods - covered - where there's no chance of it getting spilled or catching a spark from something.
Every day or two I will swoosh it up and down then let it soak again.
Manual says to use whatever oil you use in your engine in it.
A few years ago I was given a new, unopened 2 gallon jug of 30 wt non detergent oil. I didn't want to use it in my engines but think it's fine for the air cleaners.
    Free is good.
