  • HUPP TWO SPEED
  • How rare is a HUPP two speed transmission in a 8N? Should I ask more for the tractor?

  • Hupp combo's there are two versions and either an early or later one.
If your's is just a simple step up, then not much. A Sherman step up brings about $250.
A good working Hupp combo can bring about the same as a Sherman on Ebay.
Hupp combo's have either a 15 or 25 MPH top speed.
I have one combo in her tractor and another in a 5 gallon bucket of oil, somewhere.
Hupp combo's have a ball on the end of the shifter and can be pulled out and then pushed down (I believe) to engage the under drive range.

  • I have tractors with Sherman 2 speeds, Sherman 3 speeds, Hupp 3 speeds and F&T 2 speeds. Be sure that your Hupp is only a 2 speed.

  • The Hupp trans is rarer the the Sherman trans and so are the parts. By two speed if you mean that one speed is standard drive and the other speed is overdrive then it will not add much value to an already high geared 8n. Possibly a hundred or two at best.

  • Thanks everyone for your reply's. Yes my shifter has a ball on the end that says HUPP on it. I can lift up on it for double faster or pull it out side ways and push down for a double slower. That's all I know it does. I would love to read up on it but it is hard to find information on it. Again thanks for your help.
