  • No 2 stage clutch but there was a kit to install a second clutch (hydraulically operated) to have a live PTO. It fits in place of the coupling between the transmission and the differential. I have the parts on the shelf minus the plumbing lines. I bought this several years ago from John Smith in Illinois. It is a back burner project. The tractor is in regular used and I do not want to shut it down right now. You may say why install it? I say why not!

  • Just an fyi for you.
The tractor in the photo has live pto. Note the dual splined inputs into the transmission. The inner splined shaft drives the tractor.
The outer splined tube drives the pto. It uses a double clutch so you can stop the inner shaft but keep the outer one turning.
Your NAA has only a single input and one clutch disc which drives both the tractor and pto.
Here's a photo that might help you visualize what's going in in there.

  • Thanks for posting this photo and explaining the double clutch set up.
I always wondered what it actually meant.
    Now I get it

  • No, it would need both input shafts and with the 4 speed that's not possible.
