  • Rubber Washers Axle Shaft
  • I am confused by these two rubber washers that were on the end of my axle shaft, pushed right up against the bearing?I can't ID them on the exploded drawings.Any idea's, is it a "farmerized" add on?I have the newer style one piece outer axle seals, maybe they are part of the old outer seal system?Cleaning the axle and bearing, had high hopes for a repacked bearing but I think it is gone.

  • They call it a gasket in the parts look up. There should only be one and it is there to stop oil from leaking out the splines in the axle and hub. The new one will look much different as it won't be flattened out.

  • I understand they changed the basic design of the outer seal, I have a pair of the one piece A8NN4248A seals as replacements. It is confusing making the change, what to keep, what is superseded, when it has been modified.Seems someone removed the inner seal, leaving only the seal lip on my 1950 1/2 heirloom and put in an extra of these.Maybe the original outer bearing went dry and an old school 9N, 2N mechanic thought this the remedy.

Computers do not have a mind of their own. They do as told but you have to ask properly. Here is your picture.

  • That is all I did - paste in the URL and wrap it with an IMG tag.

You probably had some ill-formed HTML.
