  • Sorry to see them go, but it was time.

I posted ads for these tractors here and in the N-New about two years ago. Did not get any offers. One month ago a gentleman from Nebraska called and asked if I had any of them left. We had a phone conversation and I sent him some photos. This man does not do internet or smartphone. He called after seeing the photos and made an offer. I counter offered and he accepted. Last Friday the tractors were loaded an on their way. I am sorry to see them go, but all things must end. It was getting to be a frustration to keep them up. Maybe someone on this board saw this truck on the road this weekend.

  • Countless hours of work, head scratching, rework and ultimate satisfaction on that trailer is my guess. I've always enjoyed seeing your tractors Harold.

  • You're so right regarding the "timing to let things go". I'm finding more'n more that as I'm now approaching age 76, it's getting quite difficult to get up on the collection of tractors I have, particularly the larger row crop models (and also into the various 4WD vehicles I have). I don't think any of us fellows want to see our collections thinned, much less go away completely, but yes, there comes a time when that must happen so that our loved partners won't have to deal with 'em.

  • Got a nicer text from the buyer after he received them. He said he was very happy and that the tractors were joining his others in a steel building with a concrete floor. Sounds like they have a good home!

  • I'm in mourning. Hoping the new owner displays them proudly and not going to just put them to MECUM at auction. If you have any OEM early 9N parts you want to sell, email me.

  • I understand the time factor.
I have a Gold Demonstrator that will get redone and should find another home. Eventually.
    2 kids and no interest.
    Such is life.

  • Sad but glad. I can relate on a much smaller scale, literally. I used to collect toy trains (not Lionel). I have sold them all.
I have collected numerous Ford tractors and worked and played with them. I have to say, none came close to what you did but, they were mine and met my needs.
Knowing that you got a fair price and that they are together should be comforting.
What's next? Can't just sit down.
