broken 8n block
hi guys i had an bad day yesterday when trying to remove a broken stud out of my 1948 8n block and the block is cracked need help deciding if i should find a new block or buy a difrent trator something with live hydralics thad

Where is the crack? Does it leak oil or coolant? What do you use the tractor for? What state are you in?

Don't know if the block leaks coolant as I was rebuilding it when the crack happened I live in colorado

A crack from cylinder bore to valve is not good as valve will no longer seal well. Since you were rebuilding anyway, I would just get another block and move on. You can usually find one pretty cheap, but shipping is a bear. Good luck.
