  • Leaking Carb
  • Hey all...discovered a slow leak from my carb today, coming from the small drain screw on the front of the carb (see attached pic for reference). I verified it is tight. Also, I always loosen the main drain plug during the winter to allow any moisture to drain out. Any thoughts on why it would be leaking, and what I can do to fix it?

  • The pic appears to be an aftermarket carb that are prone to many problems but if it works well it is worth saving. Firstly remove the screw and check the threads, it may even have an improper screw installed. If the screw fits snugly check closely for casting cracks or defects. Next try a sealant like Gasoila on the threads or even a fiber or copper crush washer may work to seal it. not a lot of pressure here it should be easy to seal.
