Jubilee remote hydraulics
I recently bought a 1953 NAA with a hydraulic valve under the seat that has a single quick disconnect. There is a small copper tube connected to an adjacent port that loops back to the valve body. I'm guessing this is set up to operate a single-acting cylinder but I'm not very knowlegable about hydraulics and can't find much information about this system. Can anyone tell me what the small copper tube does and if it can be removed and that port used with a double-acting cylinder? Any information would be appreciated.

Re: Jubilee remote hydraulics
It is called the Selectrol Valve, and it was an option. It was used for a single-acting cylinder on rear mounted implements such as the 19-29 rear loader. You will see information regarding both of these accessories in the Manuals tab on this website.

It's not Selectrol. I don't know if it is a Ford option or aftermarket. I'm going to try to add a photo.

Re: Jubilee remote hydraulics
I too saw your photo of your valve. It is like the one on my 960. Mine came with the one arm loader we bought in the late 1950's. Our loader has a single acting cylinder and the outlet like yours points left and forward toward the loader connection. I have searched for data on this valve but have found nothing on it.

Re: Jubilee remote hydraulics
That looks a lot like the hydraulic valve on my Jubilee that is used to operate a double acting cylinder in front to raise and lower a snow plow blade, I think with one port blocked it was just being used with a single acting cylinder, but you should be able to plumb it to use both if needed.

Re: Jubilee remote hydraulics
Thanks. I want to hook up a hydraulic top link and it sounds like that is possible.

Re: Jubilee remote hydraulics
I saw that article. It isn't the type of hydraulics that I have.

Re: Jubilee remote hydraulics
Not the first time this question has been asked. I suspect that is a double acting valve set up for use on a single acting cylinder. The tube simply dumps pressure from the unused port to tank so as to not deadhead the pump. Easy to test - remove the tube and hook up a hose to verify two way flow. Dan
