  • 2N spool stuck in pump housing
  • New to me 2N 1945. The valve spool seems to be stuck in the valve housing. I removed the inspection cover and observes the movement of oil in the reservoir.. The only oil movement I saw was a small eddy of oil just below the differential shaft input bearing. Moving the arms or the touch control lever resulted in no movement or a change in the swirling of the oil. Further inspection and tests without the engine running using my hand on the end if the spool shows no movement of the spoor regardless of any combination of touch lever or lift arm position. Any ideas on hoe to get the spool valve unstuck while in the tractor?

  • No one has answered your question, so I will take a stab at it. Not too difficult of a job to remove the PTO shaft and drop the pump. Make sure you disconnect the control arm from the valve in the pump prior to removing the pump.
