  • Ford n2 tranmission fluid question
  • I wanted to change the transmission fluid in my Ford n2. I bought 5 gallons of fluid from amazon. I received it and its red like tranmission fluid in a automatic for a car. It say its 80 weight.

TRIAX Agra UTTO XL GL-4 Synthetic Blend Tractor Hydraulic, Transmission, Differential Fluid - All OEM Compatible with John Deere, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, CAT, and More (5 Gallon)

Please help is this the correct oil to use?????

  • I think it will work fine in your 2N. The red color is a dye that makes it easier to see the fluid level on modern tractors that use a sight glass to determine how much hydraulic fluid is in the sump.

  • It sounds like you got ATF instead. I wouldn't use it. An 80 or 90 weight mineral oil will do. Ideally, anything acceptable should meet Ford spec M2C-134D.

  • It'll be just fine. Says it meets J20C which is plenty good for a 2N Ford.
