  • Steiner Tractor Parts.
  • First off here. I'm not one to complain on small matters that effect my daily life duties. But, here's one that will curl your hair.
I ordered a 8N tractor part from Steiner Tractor Parts in Len.non, Mi. It was the only place that had the item I searched for. It wasn't expensive. Only $48.99 plus shipping. It was shipped on Sept. 1st. by USPS. From Lennon, Mi it went to Detroit USPS location, On Sept. 2nd it departed for Andersonville, Tn. On Sept. 4th it went to Knoxville, Tn. From Knoxville it went to Cincinnati USPS. On Sept. 6th it went back to Detroit USPS, and on Sept 6th it went back to Cincinnati, and on Sept 8th, it's heading for South Africa, as it landed in Miami, Fl this morning Sept 8th. at 4:am.
I called Steiner and they will try to solve the matter if possible.
I'm betting the shipping label is not clear and probably never see it. If and when I do get it, it's going back to Lennon, Mi ... Maybe! Maybe!

  • I think the culprit here is the US Postal System, not Steiner. I am seeing a lot of this in things that I mail out. I sent a package from the post office near Richmond, Virginia to a person in Virginia Beach. I can drive there in 90 minutes. It took 4-1/2 days because it got shuttled out of and then back into the Richmond Distribution Center three times. The Richmond center is a known joke, and has been "investigated" at the fed level but I am not seeing improvement. I imagine they are not the only one that is this incompetent.

Check this - it is the "Priority Mail" tracking on a tool that I JUST sold to a customer in NY:

  • Ed, Sorry if it appears I was putting the blame on Steiner. That was just to list the original starting point. The lady at Steiner's was very helpful in trying to "right the ship" with the USPS. As it turns out the must have turned around the airplane and bought the package back to Miami, Fl. But, here is the question. USPS shows the package arrived in Olathe, Ks at the same time it leaves Miami. That's a mighty fast aircraft.
