  • Fuel bowl assembly - 600/800 versus 601/801
  • Was the glass settling bowl used on the fuel bowl assembly for 601/801 series and later Ford engines smaller than on NAA/600/800 and earlier engines? The fuel bowl attaches directly to the carburetor and the fuel line connects to it. I bought one recently to use on my 860. The glass bowl is slightly smaller and longer. The standard (?) size gasket and filter screen used on the 860 (same as used on the NAA and 8N) are too large. The unit I purchased was supposed to be off an 801. Is there a source for the smaller filter screen and gasket? I have wondered if the part is for another make/model tractor. It fits fine except no replacements for the smaller fuel bowl. Thanks for any help.

  • Rick...Steiner carries the filter & gasket for the smaller bowls, but I wonder if they will seal up to your old assembly. From your post it sounds like your old bowl assembly is made for the 8N-type of bowl.

I had to find a new bowl assembly(it was missing)to fit up to my 860's carb. The only ones available had the narrow bowl, but there are 2 versions of the body for early & late models.
