  • McSNAP
  • You cannot make up the nonsense, folks.

  • Of course, my home state California is on the list. Not so sure fast food is really not nutritional but, it is surely not efficient use if what is essentially welfare money. Good government costs money; bad government costs more.

  • It costs more in multiple ways, Jim. The less nutritional fast foods and junk food that can be bought at grocery stores lead to being overweight, getting diabetes, heart disease, and other illnesses that require Medicaid services, which just adds to the tally of tax dollars being spent. I'm with RFK in narrowing the SNAP choices to healthy foods, such as fresh vegetables.

  • Agreed. Also, I wish these programs would help people get trained and employed in jobs that would allow them to get off the government dole.

  • SNAP was never intended to be a permanent handout but once something is given to someoone by taxpayers it is virtually impossible to take it away (until the entire system collapses as did the USSR, which is inevitable here in the US).

I once thought the inevitable collapse would not occur within my lifetime but no longer believe such.
