Well, thanks for clearing that up ( i think) my tractor is without a doubt a 45 to 47 2N. It is also a front mount distributor, however the oil fill tube comes out right under the oil filter canister housing so I am certain that this is not the original engine so with your info in hand, I must assume that the engine is from a 48 to 50 8N.
