PTO on the PHD
Mine's been sitting in the weather quite awhile, & guess what? The shaft is frozen tight(won't extend). I'm pretty good about keeping the u-joints & plungers lubed & free, but I forgot about that crazy triangular shaft. Any ideas how to break it free? I've tried heat & rust enzyme plus a wrench & hammer.

Re: PTO on the PHD
mix ATF and acetone, stand it on end and pour it full of the mixture. Let it soak over night. If still not free add lots of heat.

Re: PTO on the PHD
Chain one end to a tree, the other to your drawbar and use the tractor to extend them.

Re: PTO on the PHD
That is to easy Ed. And may also damage the needle bearings if not done properly.

Re: PTO on the PHD
Both answers are good but I would use a Come-A-Long instead of the tractor. Stand to one side as it may fly!

Re: PTO on the PHD
I actually rigged up the come-along while it was still mounted, but it was too hard to get a straight pull. Now that I've got it off the PHD I may give another shot.
