  • Liquid filled tires.
  • Does anyone know how much a 9N tire weighs when it is filled with liquid (calcium solution)?
I want to buy an 8N that has filled tires, and wonder if my 6,000 lb car hauler will handle it.

    Thanks
    Zeke

  • Ive used waste antifreeze in all my tractors for years. Works great, cheap.

  • Your original Ford Operator and Service Manuals have this information and there is a chart list in the How-To's forum here - click on the LINK. The chart only lists tire size, amount of calcium chloride, and added weight per wheel/tire. Actual weight of rim plus tire will vary depending on tire style and rim style; 32" or 28", hat rims vs aftermarket 6-loop style for example. You have to be a pretty strong big man to maneuver loaded tires/wheel around if that is what you're getting at. I can change rear tires loaded with Rim Guard around if careful but if they fall on ground you will not be able to lift them back up by yourself. Get help or face getting a hernia operation. I advise to let your local AG Tire Center handle teh job. I also advise not to use Calcium Chloride. Invest in beet juice, trade name RIM GUARD. It is non-corrosive and weighs approx 12 pounds per gallon.

  • For round numbers, figure the tractor weights 2500 pounds. Add 300 pounds per rear tire if it is a 12.4x28, less for and 11.2x28. So, your max should not exceed 3100 pounds. I have padded it slightly to the higher side.
