Ford 3000
Hi folks! I just acquired a (1965 ?) Ford 3000 diesel tractor that had been sitting up for over a year. The numbers I’ve located on the tractor are as follows: 5 11 10C, H 165, and I think the serial number is F*C184425. Anyway, my question is mainly surrounding hydraulics. First is the hydraulic selector lever. What does it do and what position should it be in for using the 3 pt lift? Next is the flow control knob - what does it do? It was frozen in the “ all the way in position” but I have since loosened it and it can now turn in and out. And lastly, the auxiliary service control valve knob - what does it do? This knob is rusted and frozen in the pushed in position. The lift arms are currently stuck in the up position and do not move when the hydraulic lift control lever is moved in any position so I’m wondering if any of the above items would cause the lift arms to not move. A lot of knowledge on this forum so I thank you in advance for any insight. Oh, and as if it’s not obvious, I’ve never owned a tractor. I’ve driven them to bush hog and disc to make food plots but thats the extent of my knowledge on tractors. Jimmy

Re: Ford 3000
Welcome to the NTC, Jimmy. For starters, I'll refer you to our Manuals library where you can download a free owner's manual for your 3000. Hopefully, other thousand series owners will chime in on advice on getting your lift working properly.

Re: Ford 3000
Thanks for the reply Ed. I have the owners manual downloaded and unfortunately it only tells what the items are, not really what they do. I know I need a shop manual and need to quit dragging my feet and get one. Thanks again, have a good one.

Re: Ford 3000
Unfortunately, we cannot help with a service manual but we do have an 810-page dealer parts book available for a $15 donation to this site. 100% of all donations are reinvested back into this website. You can click the link below to order it and rather than wait for a CD in the mail, I'll email it to you as an attachment so you can have it available immediately.
