  • 860 tie rods
  • Hi all, hoping you Ford tractor guru's might be able to help me find the right tie rods for my 860.
It has the standard wide front end with power steering.
I have ordered 3 sets of front tie rods and none have fit yet.
Naa 3270a the threaded end was to small.
309523 threaded in perfectly but the tapered stud was to large.
309524 the threaded end was to large.
I'm at my wits end, I don't know what other numbers to try!

  • Is the PS system on your 860 a factory installation (few are) or a retrofit from a later model?

  • I thought it was factory but not 100% sure.
Is there a way to tell?

  • Probably not but not many 6/8*0 tractors were made with PS. It might help to look for tie rod ends for an 861.

That said, unless things have changed in the past few years, front tie rod ends for 6/8*1 and 4 cylinder thousand series utility tractors are not available.

When I replaced the rear tie rods on my 64, 4000 about 15 years ago, it was necessary to buy the complete (long) rear tie rods but the fronts were not available even then.
