  • My 48 just uses a standard hex head machine screw on each side on the bottom. I slipped a couple of flat washers between the grill and the dog-leg for spacing. I forget the size bolt perhaps a 3/8 and I believe it has fine threads. You could use a socket head machine screw also for easier installation and removal with a ball end allen wrench.

  • The 1949 dealer parts book lists it as a 7/16-20 x 1-1/8" hex head bolt.

  • Jim, on my '52 8N, the doglegs bolt to the radiator frame. The grill attaches to the doglegs via pins that are part of each dogleg.

  • On my 48 8N, the doglegs attach to the axle carrier using 7/16 bolts, the grill uses machine screws at the bottom to attach to the dog legs and a pair of spring mounted pin assemblies at the top. The grill can me swung down to clean debris off the radiator by retracting the upper pins and having it pivot on the lower machine screws.
