Carson, if you want to try something a little more simple and faster to install, you can drill a hole in both top horizontal bars that run front-to-back on your scoop and bolt a common pulley between those two bars. Run your trip rope/wire through that. It will help a TON. Rather than a common hardware store pulley like the one in the pic below, I used a pulley from some garage door hardware that I had in my spare parts. Either will work. I also cut a 6-inch length of closet rod dowel, drilled a hole through the middle of it and ran my trip rope through it and knotted it. Just gave me something more to grab with my whole hand when tripping the bucket. Just reverse the direction of the trip rope through the pulley when you want to reverse your scoop.
