It may depend on the finish mower. I have a couple of Woods (60" on one tractor belly-mount, 72" on the other rear mount) that mostly take care of 10 acres of lawns, but also do clean-up work in pastures and maintain several miles of trails around fields and through woods. The only real enemy is rocks, and things have gotten broken on the smaller mower. Fortunately, parts are readily available. I did ffinally wear out the belt on the larger one, but it seems to cut almost anything and chops up the grass pretty fine so things look good. Either will usually handle stuff up to about finger size.
