If that handle is straight that might be the combo trans. Question is what is the top speed of the machine? 15 or 25 MPH? Unlike Sherman, the Hupp came in two options.
Early Hupp's were also prone to hanging between gear ranges when shifting.
Slow and deliberate is the way to go with those.
