If you are ok with just having a worker and not a restoration project, you can replace the front-mount coils with the more common round can type. We have a tutorial in our How-To's/Electrical library that shows the process. The link is below.

Two notes about it:
1- I have been told it is a royal PITA to remove the black tar-like stuff in the bad coil.

2- The last photo is of a commercial product sold by Pertronix that is a bit pricey.
