I own a 1952 8N. I've own it since 1964. It has 647 hours on the proof meter. Still has all the OEM parts, except the battery, and front and rear tires. Runs like it was new with the exception a noise ...growling, whining, or such when I let the clutch out to drive the tractor. This all started about a year ago when mowing with a finishing mower.
Here what I think is the problem. When the tractor engine is running, and I have it in "neutral" and engine idling, there is no "noise" when I let out the clutch. When I put it in gear. ( no matter which one) the let the clutch out there is this growling noise. The noise stops when I push down on the clutch pedal. I'm thinking it is a "throw-out bearing that has gone bad.
What are your thoughts?
