This is a strange post on different size 1952 8N rear axle shafts.
I bought this 8N from retired Doctor outside Monroe, la in 1962 with 86 hours on the tach.
I've had nothing done to the 8N regarding rear axle shafts. If fact, today was the first time I removed the axle nuts, and that was a big headache to get off.
The right rear axle nut is 2" 6 point nut with spring. The axle is 1-1/4" dia. The left rear has a 1-1/2" 6 point nut with spring, and the axle shaft is 1" dia. What in damm- nation happen at the Ford Dearborn plant that day in 1952. When did Ford put two different size axle shafts on 8N's.

Anyone have a clue on this two shafts size 8N?
