Top cover interchange

I picked up a mid 1950 8n with non working hydraulics, Pulled the top cover to find the back/end of the lift cylinder is blown off with the remains of the piston sticking out OUCH ! Lol
I have 2 parts 8n's here a 1948 (I think) and a 1949, They look the same from the outside but ?? Thanks any info !
