Thanks KCM! I am not sure the present ammeter is bad. The last attempt to start after I removed the distributor and re-set the ignition points gap with Dan Allen's Setting Jig resulted in the engine firing 3 or 4 times and then never running. I also installed a new key switch which was questionable. I am finished for this day. I will start again tomorrow with the Flow Chart and a prayer.
