And finally an answer in lamens terms. Thanks so much I finally understand now how to adjust the governor and how it works.
I am so glad I posted on here. Thank you to all the repliers and for all the great replys.

Also just found out some disturbing news. Did a compression test and the #1 cyl. has only 58 lbs. of pressure. The other 3 have 120. I assume that is why I have no power and why it is smoking, as well as why the engine pops while running as it is only hitting on 3 of the 4 cyl. I also noticed the valve was adjusted way too tight on the number 1 so I guess now all I can do is tear it apart and try to find out what is wrong with the cyl.
Any suggestions?????????????
