The very first post I ever made on this board (maybe 4 yrs ago) was asking about front cults for 8N. Ed sent me this same pic which is just like the ones I saw as a boy on a local Texas cotton farm. The guy had a 2 row planter on the back, and used the front cultivators to shape up the beds ahead of the planter. I distinctly remember the front lifts were small steel cables, not rods, probably a farmerization. I remember it so well because it was in my father's repair shop about 1953 to fix a leaking radiator.
